and enthusiasm so they give their best performance. It’s a management skill that takes
commitment but, when done well, the pay back is immense – motivated team members
focused on success.

Coaching for Performance helps participants develop a structured approach to coaching. It helps them recognize good coaching opportunities and plan successful coaching programs. It helps them to prepare and carry out productive coaching sessions and it shows participants how to adjust their coaching style to suit the person and the situation.

Participants will:

  • Understand what coaching is, its benefits, and the drivers and restrainers that might affect their commitment to coaching.
  • Understand how to plan a coaching project; know how to pick when, what and who to coach, know how to plan their coaching approach according to their learner’s performance and motivation.
  • Be able to distinguish coach and learner-centered behaviors.
  • Have assessed their own core coaching skills.
  • Be able to describe the GROW (Goals, Reality, Options and What) model and how it can be used to plan effective coaching sessions.
  • Understand how to review their coaching relationship and deal with possible issues that might arise.
  • Understand how to review the coaching project, celebrate success and learn from the process.
